Travelling Around Bournmouth

Having spent many a family summer holiday in the south of England along the Bournemouth area of the coast line. I would highly recommend this area to families, couples and young people. There is plenty to do for everyone whether you are a sports fantastic or just want some peace and quiet along the Dorset coastline.

A glorious sandy beach which starts here and ends at the end of Southbourne can be walked by beach lovers or take a small tourist train which travels hourly along the promenade. In the summer there are a lot of exchange students living here due to the number of English schools available to them. Making the area more of a cosmopolitan feel to the area. A number of tourist sites to visit in the area is Alume Chimes, Boscombe for the surfing and the Bournemouth gardens.

A few miles outside Bournemouth you will find the harbour town of Poole which can be reached by bus or train or car. In Poole you can catch a ferry over to Jersey for the day or if you have your own yacht you can moor the boat overnight at the marina which is located beside the harbour. Anyone interested in sports can take out water skiing or hire a pedallo for a few hours down at Poole Park. Here you can also play some crazy golf and tennis or take a spin in the little ice rink which can be found in the middle of the park.

Across the bay from Poole you can hop on a ferry for quickness over to Swanage. This is a pretty little village with a Victorian style prom and lots of little amusements for the children which you can find at the front of the seaside.

There are lots of places of interest to visit along this rugged coast line which will have something to please for everyone.
