Your Hana private tour venture will guide you through a memorable day long excursion. You will be traveling on a famous roadway along the coast. The trip will be the highlight of the journey. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop and explore the luxuriant splendor of Maui. This route on the eastern coast passes at least 50 one lane bridges and 600 sharp curving turns on the road. This 52 mile stretch usually takes over three hours one way.

Getting there is half the fun. The destination also has its special charm and is meaningful in its own way. A top seafood restaurants on the island, Mamas Fish House, is also up the road.

As you follow this spectacular winding route, a bouquet of natural beauty will be before your eyes. The path will pass through waterfalls, bamboo forests, cliffs and rainforest territory. The Keanae Valley Lookout, Wailua Falls, the Wai'anapanapa and Kaumahina State Parks, Puaa Kaa and Paia offer many opportunities to use your camera.

Beaches for windsurfing, the Oheo Stream and Pools and other places invite quick dips. Many waterfalls and trails entice travelers to investigate them. If the weather is hospitable and time is not an issue, numerous distractions are available throughout the day. The serene beauty of this side of Maui offers a refreshing atmosphere. Bring some hiking gear, a camera and a swimming suit and other associated items to make the most of this trip.

The destination is the area between Keanae and Kaupo. Ten miles south of the outskirts is Haleakala National Park in Kipahulu. Here lie the Pools of Oheo. The waterfalls pour into tiered pools before the water enters the sea. An invigorating hike up the Pipiwai Trail takes the venturesome to the 400 foot tall Waimoku Falls. Approximately 2500 or so people live there today. Around 1,500 reside in the town area. Prior to European arrival, the area sustained a large native population.
